Edge Definition
Both rising
and
faling edges are defincd
as transitional
edges that must
cross tlree
thresholds.
A rising
edge
must cross the lower threshold
in a
positive
direaion
(defrniag
it
as
a
rising edge),
cross the
mid
threshold
(any
number
of
s1655ings, both
positive
and negative
are
permissible)
and
then cross the
upper threshold
without
any
crossing of the lower
threshold.
A fa[ing edge must
cross the
upper threshold in a negative
direction,
cross the
mid
threshold
(any
number
of times),
and then
cross the lower
tbreshold
without
crossing the upper threshold.
Note
Most time measurcments arc
made
based on the
position
of the
fint
crossingof
the middle threshold
